Brown Weddings are still one of the hottest wedding colors around in the wedding industry. Rather be Brown and Pink, Brown and Ivory, or Brown and Green….Brown seems to be here to stay with all the Brides-to-Be. I have noticed lately that many brides to be think that they are entitled to discounts from every wedding professional and they think wedding planners can work miracles for them. Wedding planners are a wonderful asset and should be looked at as someone that will guide you and help you to find the wedding professionals that will work with your budget and provide quality service. If their isn’t a wedding professional that will not work with your current budget then you may have to wait until you are able to increase your budget or make some other sacrifices like not having wedding favors, no wedding transportation, etc.

It is very important that you set a realistic budget and have money already saved before you begin the wedding planning process. You need at minimum of $5,000 to begin the planning of your wedding (base on a $15,000 budget or higher). Every wedding professional is going to require a deposit to hold your wedding date and if you wait to the last minute to make your deposits you will find yourself stressed out about not having the wedding professionals you really want for your wedding.

What I have been noticing thus far this year, is that many brides to be are planning their wedding 15 to 24 months out so they can have the wedding that they want without the financial stress. This is a good strategy but you must be dedicated to making all of your wedding vendor payments on time and stick to the budget that was created for the wedding.

If you have a wedding planner or plan to hire one, please keep in mind that they are there to guide you and not seek discounts from every wedding professional that they know. Yes, wedding planners do have relationships with wedding professionals and discounts are sometimes offered but do not expect your wedding planner to request or demand a discount. Your wedding planner will tell the wedding vendor your budget and if he or she willing to work with it, then great, if not then her or she will move on and try to find a wedding professional who will.

Last Saturday we coordinated a beautiful wedding for one of our wonderful bridal couples. The wedding ceremony decorations were lovely and the reception room was gorgeous. I will share some pictures soon.

Even though everything looked great and went pretty well, we had one little hitch………”a evil guest”. Let me tell you why I call him this. During the seating of the guests for the ceremony, we were instructing guests where to sit and asking them not to walk on the aisle runner because it was preset for the bride and bridal party. Even though it was draped off,  you still have to remind guests…you will see what I’m talking about in a minute.

Well, one of the guests sat down in his seat and moments later decided to change his seat and proceeded to walk across the aisle runner to the other side of seating. While he was on his way to the other side he kicked over one of the lovely vases that lined the aisle and spilled all of the water that was on the vase onto the aisle runner. Well…….words cannot express how upset I was with this man and to top it all off……he thought it was FUNNY! We had to reset another runner and of course this caused the wedding to be an additional 10 minutes late but we made it through and the ceremony was beautiful.
