Welcome to the 21st Century – Maternity Wedding Dresses!
It wasn’t that long ago that the words “maternity” and “wedding dresses” simply couldn’t appear in the same sentence. The idea of a woman who is not only pregnant, but visibly pregnant, getting married – well, it just wasn’t done! But, times have changed and it is now acceptable and even common to see a beautiful, pregnant bride.
As recently as a generation ago, you were very unlikely to hear of a visibly pregnant bride. A pregnant bride was often married quickly, out of town, or in a civil ceremony. Because of her status as future mom, she was denied the type of wedding most women dream of.
White weddings are no longer limited to virgins. There is nothing wrong with a white maternity wedding dress, but if the bride is fearful of whispers, she can always dress up a beautiful white maternity wedding dress with a few colored flowers or lace.
Finding maternity wedding dresses is actually easier than you may think. Many bridal shops now carry several styles of maternity wedding dresses, and a recent search of eBay.com turned up over 50 maternity wedding dresses for sale.
Seamstresses are often able to convert traditional wedding dresses to maternity wedding dresses, by adjusting the waist and adding more fabric. There are even patterns available if you want to sew your own.
The most important part of buying a maternity wedding dress is, of course, the fitting. You will be expected to anticipate both your weight and size at a future date, and sometimes that is simply very difficult to do. In order to minimize any fitting mistakes, try to arrange for the alterations to be done as close to the wedding day as possible.
Oh, and don’t foreget plus size wedding dresses. They can be an option as well.
Don’t be shy, and enjoy your wedding day as a beautiful, pregnant bride. There are plenty of beautiful styles of maternity wedding dresses available from which you can choose.
No commentsTop 5 Questions To Ask Your Wedding Photographer
How do you choose a wedding photographer? Do you go with the cheapest? Do you choose the one your sister used? Do you pick your best friend’s cousin’s son? When choosing a wedding photographer, it is extremely important to choose wisely as they will be responsible for recording your event – something you will want to remember for years to come. There are five questions you should ask any wedding photographer who wants your business.
1 – Will you be actually taking the photos? Wedding photographers often have many photographers working for them. It is imperative that you meet the photographer who will be attending your wedding, not just a representative from the studio. It is important that get to know the actual photographer in charge of your wedding so that you can describe to them what you are looking for and make sure you have made a connection with this individual. You will be spending most of your wedding day with this person and it is imperative that you are able to work with his or her personality and style.
2 – What is your experience as a wedding photographer? There are many talented and professional photographers who claim to be wedding photographers as well. A true wedding photographer is a professional who specializes in weddings and has a portfolio that exhibits their skills and abilities. Make sure your photographer is an experienced and accomplished wedding photographer.
3 – Will you shoot in digital? By shooting in digital, you are afforded the ability to turn color photographs into very high quality black and white photographs, something that is not so easy with traditional photography without degradation in quality.
4 – How much direction will you allow in your photography? Many wedding photographers are particularly precious about what they will and will not shoot. You need to find a photographer who will accept your artistic direction, as well. Choose a photographer that demonstrate flexibility and has the ability to meet your needs.
5 – What is the deliverable format? With traditional (non-digital) photography, it is important to know whether you are buying the photographer’s time and expertise, or the negatives. Make sure you ask if you will be receiving the images on CD and do you have the right to make copies and prints.
Choosing a wedding photographer can be one of the most difficult parts of your wedding plans. Start looking early, and do as much research as you can to find the perfect wedding photographer for your wedding.
Here is a list of some wonderful wedding photographers in Washington/Baltimore area:
You’re Engaged!….Do NOT Set an EXACT Date!!

I know when a woman receives her engagement ring all type of thoughts just start moving through her mind…what she is going to wear, what color will the wedding be, who is going to be in the wedding, and the list goes on and on.
However, the first thing an engaged couple should do is sit back, relax, and enjoy being engaged. Don’t think about the wedding at all. Take some time out and share this wonderful time because as soon as the planning begins, you won’t be able to relax as much.
Once the engagement has been enjoyed, decide on how long you want to be engaged. Once the timetable has been established, you need to find a Wedding Workshop in your area and learn about the different components of a wedding, how they work, and how much they will cost.
After you have attended a workshop and learned how much the wedding may cost you then you need to figure out how much money you want to spend and if you will be having any financial contributions. Once you have collected this information you can the set a budget and make sure it’s one you can stick to.
The next step is to set a date. Whatever you do, don’t set an EXACT date. First figure out what season you want to get married in, then narrow it down to a month. The reason you don’t want to set an EXACT date is because the ceremony and reception location that you really like may not have your date available and then your stuck choosing another one date and possibly disappointed. Don’t do this to yourself! Not setting an exact date will also allow you to be flexible and look at all options. You don’t need any added stress to the process of planning your wedding and if you don’t set an exact date, this will be one less stressful thing you will have to worry about.
Good luck with planning your wedding and be sure to come back and let us know how wonderful it turned out!
